There are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them." ~Vicki Baum We are dancers because we cannot think of anything else we like to do better in life - not just our job; our whole life is working for and around dancing. It demands being focused and disciplined but also enthusiastic and passionate. Our dancing life incorporates a large variety of activities; we are dancers, competitors who represent their country, demonstrators, dance instructors, competitive coaches, lecturers and adjudicators. For us, and we think for every dancer, it is important to bring their art and their skill also to the general public. Ballroom dancing has so much to offer, it is so much more than just learning some steps. We sometimes get asked if it is "boring" for us to teach beginners - what a question! If you are a good teacher you can identify yourself with your pupils, you have to have an idea of how they would feel trying something for the first time. Sometimes it is more challenging to actually teach a beginner than to work with a top competitive couple. A top competitor will understand you in a different way and their control of the body is already developed. If you work with beginners you have to carefully choose step by step how you will build up the body together with teaching the basic patterns. The most important thing is the enjoyment of dancing. As frustrating as it can sometimes be when you want to develop a skill, in the end, Ballroom Dancing is a story about a man and a woman dancing together and that should never be forgotten.
