About Warren Brown

Warren started to dance at the young age of 4 in his parent’s dance school in Glasgow, Scotland. "Warren’s School of Dancing" is still owned and run by Warren Sr. and Aileen Brown and they are proud to announce that their school recently celebrated their centenary (100 years).

Warren danced his first competition the same year he started to dance, in 1979 in Glasgow. He competed all the way from Juveniles, Juniors, Youth to Amateur and has become the youngest Scottish Champion in history at the age of 15.

Besides Ballroom Dancing, warren has been extensively trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern Ballet and Tap. He trained with the famous Scottish Ballet and appeared with the Scottish Ballet in "The Nutcracker" (Fritz), "Swan Lake", "Giselle" and with the Scottish opera in "The Valkyrie", "Death in Venice", "The Barber of Seville". Warren also has been a successful Gymnast. He held the position of top 2 in Scotland but had to make the personally painful decision to give up his career as a gymnast to focus on his dance education.

Warren has been accepted into "The Dance School of Scotland" in Knightswood where he spent his high school years being prepared for a professional Ballet and Musical theater career. There has always been a lot of controversy around Warren who had to balance the requirements of training for a stage career and meet the requirements of a competitive ballroom dance career. Competitive Ballroom dancing was not allowed if you trained Ballet on such a high level, the rules were very strict and Warren had to make another painful decision, after he has been granted one of the few spots at the Royal Ballet Academy in London, to focus on his Ballroom Dancing and so he turned down this opportunity heavy heartedly.

Since Warren’s father has been actively involved in the British Rock’n'Roll and Disco Freestyle world, Warren got the opportunity to train in those styles as well and became very successful with winning the title of British National Rock’n Roll Champion and Scottish and European Disco Freestyle Champion in his teenage years.

Warren has set an unprecedented record in Scotland by winning the Scottish Ballroom Championships 4 times and the Scottish 10Dance Championships 5 times.

Warren turned Professional in 1999. He has held the title of Scottish Professional Champion in Ballroom, Latin and 10dance ever since and he represented Scotland at numerous World and European Championships. Some of his best results were Italian Open Professional Rising Star Latin Champion, Korean Open Professional Latin Champion, Taiwanese Open Professional Latin Champion and European Professional 10 Dance Finalist as well as British National Professional Ballroom and Latin Finalist.
